KAN does not Provide Accreditation to CB Located Outside of Indonesia
To Whom It May Concern
Recalling, the IAF GD 3 cross frontier programme, principle D which stated, The signatories to the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement (MLA) normally operate from a national base, providing accreditation of CRBs for their home market. The effect of the
IAF MLA, based on IAF peer evaluation, is that the accredited CRBs should receive recognition from the whole global market for the certificates of conformity that they issue under their scopes of accreditation.
Considering, the result of KAN council meeting on March 5, 2013 that mandated to reduce the risk of fraudulent practice in using KAN accreditation that will threat credibility and impartiality of accreditation.
Decided, KAN will not provide accreditation to certification body that located in outside from Indonesia. KAN as National Accreditation Body in Indonesia only provides accreditation to Certification Bodies that located in Indonesia. For the Foreign
Certification Bodies that have accredited by KAN, KAN will maintain the accreditation for one accreditation cycle, after this period the accreditation will be terminated.
